My name is Kim Elkins. I am a Licensed Human Massage Therapist and Certified Equine Massage Therapist based in Dayton, Ohio, who blends structural, energetic, neurological, emotional and vibrational healing to help humans and animals thrive. I incorporate multiple therapies in my practice , and am a national instructor of several of my favorite modalities, including Emmett Technique (humans and animals), Bowen Technique (humans), Craniosacral Technique (humans and animals), and Zone Technique (humans).
I have always enjoyed learning, and am always striving to get the best possible results for my clients. There is no "one size fits all" when it comes to people and animals, and so I will do whatever it takes to the best results for the individual. As an example, I worked on one horse that was a bit of a puzzle; I decided to try playing the Tibetan bowls on his body and he thoroughly enjoyed it and we had a nice result from the session - I had never tried that before, but it was what that horse needed.
I have seen a great number of miracles over the years, and am profoundly greatful for the phenomenal instructors I've had, for the incredible techniques I've been able to learn, and for each client as I've always learned something from each person. My life and this work is a blessing. My practice integrates years of training, intuitive skill, and a heartfelt commitment to helping every client - human or animal - feel whole, safe, and seen.
How It All BeganMy early years were marked by anxiety and emotional turbulence, a childhood where I often felt like the outsider and uncomfortable in my own skin. However, something shifted when I was about ten years old — a friend of my mother’s offered me a Swedish massage, and in that moment, I experienced something I’d never known before: safe, compassionate, healing touch from a stranger. It was more than soothing — it was life-changing. A quiet seed was planted.
Years later, I found myself in the world of Information Technology and database development — a space defined by logic, structure, and analysis. It sharpened my mind, trained my problem-solving skills, and gave me the tools to think critically. But something deeper inside me still longed for connection, for meaning, for healing.
In 2004, when my employer’s business nearly closed and our hours were cut, I took a leap — a wild, intuitive leap — and enrolled in massage school. I thought it would be a way to explore the “other half” of my brain and connect with people in a more personal, meaningful way.
What I discovered was that this path wasn’t just an experiment — it was a return. A return to something I had felt as a child. The more I learned, the more I craved to know. Every technique, every modality, every energetic connection drew me deeper into a calling I hadn’t yet fully understood — to help both people and animals heal through presence, touch, and trust.
I customize my sessions to meet a client's needs, and often blend multiple modalities to get the best results. I frequently use the techniques listed above, as well as Reflexive Performance Reset, Neural Organization Technique, Osteodouce (gentle French osteopathic techniques), Hypnosis, Energetic Structural Balancing (Dutch Osteopathic techniques), in addition to the occasional soundbath and on-body Tibetan Bowl massage. Clients also have the option to receive a vibrational sound healing experience on my vibroacoustic water table. I have also learned dozens of other techniques over the years, and I may pop them into a session as needed.
When I was asked to teach these modalities, I was thrilled because I knew that I would be able to indirectly help a lot more people and animals return to a healthy state. With the application and study of these techniques, you will be able to change your results from hit or miss to consistent success, with litle wear and tear on your body.
As a result, you will feel great about providing your family, friends, pets and clients with the best possible healing results out there. Most of these courses are open to anyone with a desire to learn, no previous knowledge required.
